1. Scope

These terms apply to online payments that vehicle owners make on invoices generated in WrenchDay and processed through the shop's connected Stripe account (Stripe Connect). They supplement the WrenchDay Terms of Service and the Billing, Cancellation, and Refund Policy.

These terms do not apply to payments a shop collects outside of WrenchDay, such as cash, checks, or a card terminal not connected to the platform.

2. Fee schedule

Each online invoice payment carries two components: (a) Stripe payment-processing fees set and collected under the shop's Stripe agreement; and (b) a WrenchDay platform transaction fee of 1.5% of the payment amount, collected through Stripe's application-fee mechanism.

Stripe processing fees vary by the shop's agreement, payment method, card type, geography, currency, and other processor rules. WrenchDay does not promise a fixed Stripe rate or a fixed combined processing cost. The actual settled processor fee should be reconciled from the connected Stripe account when available.

WrenchDay may change the platform transaction fee prospectively with reasonable prior notice, subject to applicable law and any written commitment (such as a founding-shop agreement).

3. Collection mechanics

The platform fee is collected through Stripe's application-fee mechanism on the PaymentIntent created for each invoice. The fee is deducted from the transaction before funds settle to the shop's Stripe balance; shops do not receive a separate invoice for platform transaction fees.

Each PaymentIntent records the invoice amount and platform fee in its metadata so shops can reconcile payouts against invoices. Settled processor-fee information may arrive later through Stripe balance-transaction data.

4. Vehicle-owner checkout total

WrenchDay currently calculates the online checkout total from the approved invoice amount and does not automatically gross up the total or add a card-processing surcharge. The shop absorbs Stripe processing fees and the WrenchDay platform fee from its payout.

A shop remains responsible for the lawful prices, taxes, discounts, and other line items it places on the underlying estimate or invoice. WrenchDay does not characterize an independently entered invoice line as a lawful surcharge, convenience fee, or cash-discount program.

5. Shop pricing responsibilities

Card surcharges, convenience fees, cash discounts, advertised prices, and tax treatment are regulated by jurisdiction and card-network rules. Because WrenchDay's automatic surcharge control is disabled, a shop must not represent the platform as determining that an independently entered fee or pricing practice is lawful.

The shop is responsible for obtaining legal and processor guidance before using any separate pricing practice outside the standard WrenchDay invoice flow, including required registrations, notices, signage, caps, debit-card restrictions, and tax treatment.

6. Refunds, disputes, and chargebacks

If a payment is refunded, Stripe's handling of its processing fees is governed by Stripe's terms; Stripe processing fees are generally not returned on refunds. WrenchDay may, at its discretion, return the platform fee on full refunds processed through the platform, but is not obligated to do so unless required by law.

Chargebacks, disputes, and associated processor fees are between the shop, its customer, and Stripe. WrenchDay is not a party to the underlying repair transaction and is not responsible for dispute outcomes.

7. Taxes

The shop is responsible for determining how sales tax applies to its invoices. Platform transaction fees charged by WrenchDay are exclusive of any taxes that may apply to WrenchDay's services.
